David Smart joined Softwerx in 2009 as Managing Director. Having served a formal apprenticeship in 1981 with British Telecom, David moved to London and in to the IT Sector, working for large corporates including Digital Equipment, Bull Information Systems and Willis Corroon; as well as a number of smaller, niche businesses including Case Communications, SCS and STL Technologies. David has an ONC in Telecommunications, an MBA from Durham University and holds various Microsoft accreditations.
Adriaan Bekker joined Softwerx in 2002. Adriaan has a practical, hands-on approach and contributes to almost every aspect of our business. WIth over 20 years of experience in IT, and holding both Computer Science and Business degrees, he offers a valuable blend of technical expertise and commercial insight. Adriaan has helped a wide variety of organisations over the years, but he particularly specialises in advising charities, schools and businesses - from start-ups through to plcs - on IT strategy, infrastructure, disaster recovery, the Cloud, software licensing and tailored IT solutions.
Microsoft Practice Manager
Matt Smith joined Softwerx in 2010 with a proven track record in design, implementation and support of enterprise applications and operating systems. Matt heads up our Microsoft Business Practice. Having previously worked with a long list of vendors including Microsoft, VMware, Redhat, HP, Dell and Cisco, Matt has a wealth of product knowledge and experience to offer Softwerx's customers.
Garry Bliss joined Softwerx in 2010 as a Technology Consultant with over 15 years of IT experience. Garry holds an extensive number of Microsoft qualifications and has successfully led dozens of sophisticated and complex IT Infrastructure migrations and deployments at Softwerx. Garry's depth of knowledge and likeable approach with customers makes him a particular sought-after resource at Softwerx.
Technical Service Manager
Darren Cutting joined Softwerx in 2013 as a Senior Technical Engineer and quickly progressed to become the Technical Services Manager at Softwerx. Darren has 15 years' experience in the IT Sector, starting life as a Helpdesk Support Engineer. Today, Darren heads up the Helpdesk at Softwerx, providing leadership and technical input to a dedicated support team.

Joining Softwerx in 2016 to lead on Service Delivery, Samuel is highly-experienced and qualified, with over 15 years of working with systems integration, platform support, project management and solution design. Senior Support Engineer
Chris Harris joined Softwerx in August 2013 as a Senior Support Engineer / 3rd Line Engineer. Chris has passed several Microsoft Server/Hyper-v exams and has experience with Microsoft server, VMware, Hyper-V. Previously working for Serco on a large public sector IT contracts, Chris has over 8 years of experience in the IT sector.
2nd Line Support Engineer
Marcello joined Softwerx in 2015 as a 2nd Line Support Engineer. Marcello has 6 years' experience supporting customers at all levels, remotely and on-site. Marcello is particularly proficient with Windows systems, virtual environments and network solutions and has a proven track record of customer service excellence.
2nd Line Support Engineer
Luke joined Softwerx in 2012 as a Microsoft Apprentice on the Softwerx Helpdesk. Since completing his apprenticeship, Luke has risen through the company to become a valuable 2nd Line Support Engineer. In 2014 Luke won Employee of the Year, as voted for by his colleagues.
Apprentice IT Technician
Patrick joined Softwerx in January 2017 as an Apprentice IT Technician. Developing new skills, while completing his Softwerx apprenticeship, has enabled him to pursue his chosen career in IT. With a business administration background and previous experience in customer facing roles, Patrick joins the Helpdesk. He’s a valuable member of Softwerx’s 1st Line Support, helping to expedite and efficiently resolve customer enquiries.
IT Security Specialist
Wanting to pursue a career in IT, Thomas joined the Softwerx team in February 2017. With a background in science and experience in sales and business development, he brings a wealth of transferable skills to Softwerx. New to IT, Thomas works predominantly with the Mimecast product and is developing his specialism in cyber security to offer Softwerx customers an ever efficient and effective service.
IT Security Consultant
Joining the Softwerx team in April 2017, Slaven wants to take advantage of the opportunities that a career in IT can offer. Based in Cambridge, Slaven graduated from Bath University last year after studying Creative Music Technology which led him to this role in IT. With a strong desire to share new technology and the advantages of using services such as The Cloud, he is looking forward to the diversity of the IT industry.
Apprentice IT Support Engineer
As a 1st line IT Support Engineer, Billy’s role includes logging calls and dealing with customers on the busy Helpdesk. Billy joined the Softwerx Apprenticeship Programme in April 2017 having previously attended West Suffolk College studying Computing. He very much enjoys the customer service aspect of the job, understanding clients issues and solving problems quickly, ensuring customers are fully satisfied with the solutions.
