David Smart

Managing Director

David Smart joined Softwerx in 2009 as Managing Director. Having served a formal apprenticeship in 1981 with British Telecom, David moved to London and in to the IT Sector, working for large corporates including Digital Equipment, Bull Information Systems and Willis Corroon; as well as a number of smaller, niche businesses including Case Communications, SCS and STL Technologies. David has an ONC in Telecommunications, an MBA from Durham University and holds various Microsoft accreditations.

Adriaan Bekker

Technical Director

Adriaan Bekker joined Softwerx in 2002. Adriaan has a practical, hands-on approach and contributes to almost every aspect of our business. WIth over 20 years of experience in IT, and holding both Computer Science and Business degrees, he offers a valuable blend of technical expertise and commercial insight. Adriaan has helped a wide variety of organisations over the years, but he particularly specialises in advising charities, schools and businesses - from start-ups through to plcs - on IT strategy, infrastructure, disaster recovery, the Cloud, software licensing and tailored IT solutions.

Matt Smith

Microsoft Practice Manager

Matt Smith joined Softwerx in 2010 with a proven track record in design, implementation and support of enterprise applications and operating systems. Matt heads up our Microsoft Business Practice. Having previously worked with a long list of vendors including Microsoft, VMware, Redhat, HP, Dell and Cisco, Matt has a wealth of product knowledge and experience to offer Softwerx's customers.

Garry Bliss

Technology Consultant

Garry Bliss joined Softwerx in 2010 as a Technology Consultant with over 15 years of IT experience. Garry holds an extensive number of Microsoft qualifications and has successfully led dozens of sophisticated and complex IT Infrastructure migrations and deployments at Softwerx. Garry's depth of knowledge and likeable approach with customers makes him a particular sought-after resource at Softwerx.

Darren Cutting

Technical Service Manager

Darren Cutting joined Softwerx in 2013 as a Senior Technical Engineer and quickly progressed to become the Technical Services Manager at Softwerx. Darren has 15 years' experience in the IT Sector, starting life as a Helpdesk Support Engineer. Today, Darren heads up the Helpdesk at Softwerx, providing leadership and technical input to a dedicated support team.

Chris Harris

Senior Support Engineer

Chris Harris joined Softwerx in August 2013 as a Senior Support Engineer / 3rd Line Engineer. Chris has passed several Microsoft Server/Hyper-v exams and has experience with Microsoft server, VMware, Hyper-V. Previously working for Serco on a large public sector IT contracts, Chris has over 8 years of experience in the IT sector.

Harley Butcher

1st Line Support Team Leader

Harley joined Softwerx in 2016, being the support team leader, Harley works with the 1st Line Support Technicians and helps the apprentices in our growing team. He enjoys dealing with different IT infrastructures and assisting our customers on a day to day basis with their IT related enquiries. 

Marcello Loddo

2nd Line Support Engineer

Marcello joined Softwerx in 2015 as a 2nd Line Support Engineer. Marcello has 6 years' experience supporting customers at all levels, remotely and on-site. Marcello is particularly proficient with Windows systems, virtual environments and network solutions and has a proven track record of customer service excellence.

Luke Peters

2nd Line Support Engineer

Luke joined Softwerx in 2012 as a Microsoft Apprentice on the Softwerx Helpdesk. Since completing his apprenticeship, Luke has risen through the company to become a valuable 2nd Line Support Engineer. In 2014 Luke won Employee of the Year, as voted for by his colleagues.

Milica Sucevic

2nd Line Support Engineer

Milica is one of our latest team members, she joined Softwerx in July 2017 after previously working as a Senior IT Technician in the public sector. Based in Cambridge, she graduated in Audio and Music Technology from Anglia Ruskin University. Milica is responsible for providing Network, Server and end-user support remotely and onsite as well as effective IT Support across all aspects of the business.

Billy Camp

Apprentice IT Support Engineer

As a 1st line IT Support Engineer, Billy’s role includes logging calls and dealing with customers on the busy Helpdesk. Billy joined the Softwerx Apprenticeship Programme in April 2017 having previously attended West Suffolk College studying Computing. He very much enjoys the customer service aspect of the job, understanding clients issues and solving problems quickly, ensuring customers are fully satisfied with the solutions.

James Gunn

Apprentice 1st Line Support Technician

James has been with the team since mid 2017, his daily tasks include answering our customers' enquiries over the phone and to help them with any support they require. James most enjoys helping our customers with any issues coming through as well as learning more about all this technology he wasn't aware of before.

Daniel Mallinson

IT Security Specialist

Daniel has been a part of our Cambridge team for over 3 years, he works with new businesses and organisations to help support them with cyber security related enquiries. For him every day is a school day, you learn something new and solutions are always evolving so we're able to help our clients protect themselves against any cyber crime.

Andrew Murrell

IT Security Specialist

For the last 3 1/2 years Andrew has been one of our IT Security Specialists, his daily tasks include the sale and supply of security as a service (SaaS) software. He enjoys helping businesses with increasing their cyber security as well as tackling the cyber security landscape to ensure Softwerx's clients are fully protected and ready for a cyber attack.
