They were shortlisted for 'Best Use of Technology' in the Charity Times Awards for their work with the Leyton Orient Community Sports Programme (LOCSP).
After a catastrophic data loss on their legacy on-site system, the charity enlisted the help of an IT consultant, who recommended Databarracks. Together, they helped overhaul the existing physical environment and transition the organisation to a lower-cost, virtualised environment.
They reduced the amount of overall backed up data and moved almost two thirds of the remaining data onto their more cost-efficient archival storage tier as it wasn’t accessed on a regular basis. Charities and NGOs work to notoriously tight budgets, and so for them to be able to reduce their IT costs so dramatically made a huge impact on the bottom line.
