Microsoft has announced new billing systems for its Azure storage and backup services, including prices based on the number of machines being backed up, Block Blob plans and more location choices.
Microsoft will now charge $5/month (£3.37/month) for up to 50GB storage, $10/month (£6.74/month) for 51-500GB and then an additional $10/month for every 500GB thereafter for protected Instances. Those using Locally Redundant Storage (LRS) or Geo-Redundant Storage (GRS) Block Blob storage will pay $0.024/GB/month (£0.016/GB/month) and $0.048/GB/month (£0.032/GB/month) consecutively.
The Protected Insurances scheme comprises virtual machines, Windows Server workloads (SQL Server, Exchange, SharePoint, Dynamics and the File Server) and Windows clients.
