As a heads-up, Microsoft has also recently announced that support will stop for Microsoft SQL Server 2005 on the 12th April 2016. The message from Microsoft is that “ is important to consider SQL Server 2005 alongside Windows Server 2003 migration, otherwise you’ll find that upgrading is going to end up like painting the Forth Bridge”.
