As a heads-up, Microsoft has also recently announced that support will stop for Microsoft SQL Server 2005 on the 12th April 2016. The message from Microsoft is that “..it is important to consider SQL Server 2005 alongside Windows Server 2003 migration, otherwise you’ll find that upgrading is going to end up like painting the Forth Bridge”.
